Gary, IN Gary, IN Full-time Full-time $53,335 - $130,812 a year $53,335 - $130,812 a year Project Manager is primarily responsible for orienting, training and overseeing inexperienced project managers along with planning, directing, coordinating and budgeting of multiple repair or construction projects.
JOB DUTIES 1.
) Study job specifications to assess scope of work and determine course of action to successfully complete the project.
2.
) Prepares a complete estimate for selected project with a detailed review of proposal specifications, drawings, and contracts.
3.
) Establishes project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
4.
) Plan, organize and direct activities concerned with the project.
5.
) Schedule each project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
6.
) Direct and supervise supervisors and workers.
7.
) Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with appropriate safety codes, construction codes, etc.
8.
) Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions with customers, clients, suppliers and subcontractors when necessary.
9.
) Interpret and explain plans and schedules with supervisors, workers and clients when necessary.
10.
) Provides technical assistance and recommends methods and equipment as required.
11.
) Manages financial aspects of the projects to assure profitability of the project as originally designed.
12.
) Performs additional related duties as directed, including but not limited to, maintaining good relationships with clients, represent company at business and/or client meetings and confers with Department heads when necessary.
13.
) Performs training, guidance, and mentors less experienced project managers.
14.
) Assigns various segments of projects to project mangers within their abilities and experience levels.
15.
) Reviews and oversees performance of the project managers in training and makes recommendations to the operations manager for them to work independent.
Position requires 5
years of work-related experience without a degree or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with a minimum of 3 years work-related experience, a thorough understanding of corporate and industrial practices, processes and standards of project activities, thorough knowledge of materials, welding methods and procedures and the tools involved in the scope of above ground storage tanks, refinery and terminal piping.
Position requires critical thinking ability and communication skills to provide accurate information to supervisors, customers and the work group or teams.
Must have working knowledge of ASME Sec.
VIII, Div.
1 and ASME Sec.
II, parts A and C.
Knowledge of ASME Sec.
IX, API 510 and AWI, CWI and ASME Sec.
II parts B and D are considered a plus but not required.
