Job Description:
Middle School Administrative Assistant JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The minimum education requirement is a high school diploma with proficiency in computers, office machines, typing and filing.
REPORTS TO:
Principal/Assistant Principal/Dean of Students DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
1.
Serve as receptionist and office manager in the general office 2.
Make principal/assistant principal/Dean of Student appointments 3.
Process all paperwork from office to teacher and office to home 4.
Be responsible for keeping files to date in outer office 5.
Prepare and maintain time sheets for all non-licensed personnel 6.
Maintain and report records of teacher absences and substitute personnel 7.
Be responsible for all mail and mail distribution to teachers 8.
Prepare requests for office supplies and purchase orders and distribute materials as required 9.
Be responsible for maintenance and service of all office machines 10.
Type various reports as needed 11.
Type all information and assemble folders for opening and closing of the school year 12.
Maintain bulletin boards in the office area 13.
Maintain and supervise correspondence and memo files 14.
Type and file suspension letters 15.
Type and file expulsion forms and recommendations 16.
Be responsible for answering the telephone 17.
Supervise students sent to the office until disciplinary action can be taken 18.
Maintain accident reports for employees and students 19.
Provide first aid to ill and/or injured students, notifying parents if necessary 20.
Issue and file building use forms 21.
Help guide students to the appropriate counselor/social worker/nurse or administrator when the student is in need 22.
Greet and accommodate parents, students and visitors when they come to the office.

Maintain personnel files for the building 24.
Write letters/prepare outgoing information as needed 25.
Prepare final correspondence and documents after editing as necessary 26.
Organize and assist during registration (to include summer school) 27.
Serve as liaison between offices, promoting cooperation and coordination of services 28.
Exhibit initiative, creativity and good judgment in making decisions and reflect a positive attitude and work ethic in representing Lake Ridge Schools 29.
Exercise good judgment in handling confidential information and correspondence 30.
Be efficient in organizing and maintaining files and records 31.
In the absence of other office personnel, fill in as needed 32.
Perform such reasonable duties as assigned by the principal or his/her assistant

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENTS:
Ten months.
Salary to be determined by the Board of School Trustees as per contract and shall be effective January 1 of each calendar year.
This position is a non-exempt secretarial position.
EVALUATION:
Performance on job requirements will be evaluated annually by the Principal in accordance with Board Policy.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
