Responsibilities:
Supervision and Care:
Assist in providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for children.
Supervise and engage with children during playtime, meals, and other daily activities.
Ensure the well-being and comfort of each child in the facility.
Assistance with Activities:
Support the implementation of age-appropriate and developmentally stimulating activities.
Assist in organizing and facilitating games, crafts, and educational exercises.
Encourage positive social interactions among children.
Health and Hygiene:
Assist with maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the childcare facility.
Support children in daily routines such as handwashing, toileting, and napping.
Monitor and respond to children's health needs and administer basic first aid when necessary.
Collaboration with Lead Teachers:
Work collaboratively with lead teachers and other staff members to implement curriculum plans.
Provide feedback and observations on children's behavior and progress.
Assist in preparing materials and resources for lessons and activities.
Communication with Parents:
Foster positive communication with parents and caregivers.
Share daily updates, observations, and any relevant information about a child's day.
Address parent inquiries and concerns in a professional and supportive manner.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to state licensing regulations and childcare facility policies.
Maintain awareness of emergency procedures and participate in drills.
Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly to supervisory staff.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and child development.
Assist in documenting children's progress and achievements.
Complete required paperwork for state licensing and compliance.
Assistance with Meals:
Support mealtime routines, including meal preparation, serving, and clean-up.
Encourage healthy eating habits and monitor dietary restrictions.
Be aware of and address any allergies or special dietary needs.
Behavior Management:
Assist in promoting positive behavior and implementing appropriate discipline strategies.
Communicate and reinforce facility rules and expectations to children.
Professional Development:
Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
Stay informed about best practices in early childhood education and childcare.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Relevant coursework or certification in early childhood education (preferred).
CPR and First Aid certification & Negative TB w/food handlers card.
Experience working with children in a childcare setting.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Pass a criminal background check.
